Questions you might have…
Are the events indoors or outdoors?
On Saturday, weather permitting, the ceremony will be outdoors on grass and cocktail hour will be outdoors as well. The reception will be tented.
Friday and Sunday events will be indoors.
What are the dress codes for the weekend events?
The wedding ceremony and reception are Black Tie Optional. Mid-length and long dresses, tuxedos, and dark suits are all great choices.
Friday’s welcome party will be Dressy Casual - this could be dresses, nice pants, etc. No ties necessary. We’re not too picky, just dress as you would if going out to a trendy restaurant or a cocktail party. Sunday’s brunch will be Casual - wear whatever you would like. We’d rather you impress us with your commitment to the dance floor the night before than your presentability on Sunday morning.
What information do I need to know about the buses to and from the wedding?
Buses will be departing from all three hotels. Please plan to be there by 4:00pm, and someone will be there to greet you. Buses will be leaving at 4:15pm - there can be traffic and we want to ensure we can get everyone settled comfortably before we begin. Unfortunately, we won’t be able to facilitate transportation for guests who are not there by 4:15pm. If you miss the bus, you may elect to drive though we would recommend a rideshare (e.g., Uber or Lyft).
There will some buses available to take guests back to Philadelphia starting at 10:00pm, with the majority shuttling guests back between 11:00pm (end of the reception) and 1:00am (end of the after party).
Can I drive to the venue instead of taking the arranged transportation?
If you plan to drive yourself to Winterthur, please email us so we can discuss logistics with you. Parking is available though it will require a couple extra steps of coordination.
Are children invited?
We love the little ones, but the events on Friday and Saturday are adult-only. If you need childcare, you can check out SitterCity, Care.com, or a local agency called Sitter Select. Children are welcome at Sunday’s brunch.
Which hotel should I choose?
All three of the hotels are centrally located and walkable to one another. Transportation for the wedding will be provided both ways from each of the three hotels.
The Hyatt Centric and The Notary have similar pricing and level of amenities. They confer slightly different advantages depending on what you are looking for. The Hyatt Centric is closer to Rittenhouse Square (a lovely park to walk through, people watch, and sit to enjoy a cup of coffee) and the surrounding stores/restaurants. The Notary has a view of the historic City Hall building and is closer to the events for Friday and Sunday. The third option—the Ritz-Carlton—is a higher price point with more upscale rooms and amenities. It is located between the Hyatt Centric and the Notary and is the site of the Sunday Brunch.
